A House For All Seasons And Reasons

New Beginnings
December 15, 2003

Buddy and I based our marriage on the words 'New Beginnings'. Buddy even designed our wedding bands to say 'New Beginnings' in Hebrew.

I am trying to approach my life without Buddy as just another part of our 'New Beginnings'. After all, everywhere I go on our place, I see and feel Buddy's presence. The new house was a big part of our New Beginnings and I know Buddy would want me to keep sharing its growth. For that reason, I am going to try and update you on it's progress. Gary Baize and his crew have been helping me coordinate the work on the house. They framed out the porch after I made a change in the plans. I decided to concrete a section of the porch so I could enclose it during the winter for my plants. This is the concrete frame just before concrete was poured.

Then Gary's crew started framing the porch. This is the view from the North West corner looking East.

Then work on the porch roof started.

During this time, we had a little 5" rain and the stone was delivered.

In the next few weeks the house started to becoming a home and this is what it looked like this afternoon.

The great room now has a stone wall where the wood burning stove will sit

and arches are up on the East entry.

Electrical is about 2/3 completed and the Air/Heating systems are being put into the house this week. Still to come is the insulation, sheetrock work, stained concrete work, kitchen cabinets, and several other items. I will try to keep you posted as the home progresses.
Hope Everyone Has Happy Holiday season.
